Who were the Tirailleurs Sénégalais? A corps of colonial infantry of the French Army recruited in Senegal and French West Africa, they fought with distinction in the First World War. But their memory is slowly fading, even in Senegal and particularly among young people. A former ICCROM course participant, Ismaëla Diatta, has created a Museum-Bus to bring a mobile exhibition to Senegalese schools, in order to revive interest in this aspect of African military history.
