Who wins? Ripples over Jimi vs Ambode campaign takes over social media. The social media-Facebook, Twitter was awashed today with different comparative analysis of who may likely win Lagos in 2015, after Mr. Jimi Agbaje was declared winner of the Lagos State governorship primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), after defeating his counterpart, former Minister of State for Defence, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro. According to some of the social media commentators, it was stated that Ambode may likely have an edge over Agbaje in that he years of experience in public service, in addition to a structure which is already laid for him in the state by his party, All. Progressive Congress. However, other analysts dismissed the likelihood of Ambode winning Lagos state saying that Agbaje is more of a Lagosian and has a better goodwill in the public than APC’s Ambode. One commentator, who identifies self on the social media as @itsmine, said Agbaje will help rescue Lagos from the grips of Tinubu who has been perceived to influence decision making in Lagos but this reasoning was also downplayed by the same commentator who lamented the fact that Agbaje is set to return Lagos to Bode George of PDP, who is not so far from Tinubu in person and character. Most of the commentators were glad that the contestant are both Christians which puts them on a level playing ground when compared on religious advantages. Ambode’s campaign will be centred around the continuity of works done by Fashola in Lagos State while that of Agbaje will be focused on ‘Change’, which some of the analysts doubts will sell in a state like Lagos.
