Whoa - we are feeling the warm fuzzies from our community right now. More letters of support are hitting the CRTC this week and we are sincerely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to send a note to help bring another option to the FM dial in Penticton. Claire T, Terry S, Mary D, Randall R, Andrna I, Keith M, Yanti R, Maiya R, Jane L, Glory M, Raina L, Karla K, Su B, Justin G, Ian M, Victoria A, Carole P, Larry S, Georgeen J, and so many more. Including Freya Zaltz of the National Campus & Communtiy Radio Association who reminds us that: If PCCRS’s application is approved by the Commission, Penticton would be the first city in the Okanagan Valley to have a licenced campus or community radio station. It would also be the first new station licenced to serve Penticton since 1981, despite the city’s 40 percent population growth during that period. We think the service proposed by PCCRS would make a valuable contribution to Penticton, and set a positive example for other communities in the Okanagan Valley that may be interested in establishing their own community radio stations.
