Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray. Proverbs 10:17 In life we all take the shortcuts sometimes, we try to do things our own way that is easiest for us. When we do those things we are missing out on so much. Sometimes isn’t about completing the task, it is about the journey it takes to complete the task. I mean look at High School, if they told you that you could go one year and graduate I think almost everyone would do that. That would be us taking the shortcut when we would have missed all of the things we learned over the other 3 years. It’s not just school things, its life lessons. That 4 year journey isn’t just about getting a diploma; it is about preparing you for the journey we call life. If not for the journey, what would you have learned? The journey is the growing part, completing it is just a little part of it. Taking shortcuts in the end we lose sight of the real purpose. We all need instruction and time to take in what God has planned for all of our lives. I don’t want a pastor who has just skimmed over his bible to teach me about God.
