Whole Foods Market is hosting a hiring fair for cooks, culinary professionals, pizza cooks, and production cooks. We will be doing interviews on Tuesday November 5th from 9am-1pm on the plaza level of the downtown location on Lamar. When you get to the store take the stairs to the plaza level and follow the signs. All of our positions will pay no less than $10/hour. We offer a 20% discount to team members as well as medical, vision, and dental insurance for full time and part time employees. We are hiring for All Austin locations and we have full time and part time positions available. What we are looking for: - Previous kitchen experience focusing on hotel/banquet and/or catering a plus, able to execute large batch production recipes -Excellent understanding of quality, scratch food production and fundamental cooking techniques - Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. - Ability to work with a sense of urgency and meet timelines - Ability to follow instructions and procedures. -Previous pizza making experience a plus, ability to understand basic dough handling procedures and shaping techniques -Ability to work and manage fast paced pizza production and manages ovens to ensure quality product Essential Job Functions: Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds. Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds. Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
