Whose Control Are You Under? Positive examples are tremendous motivators for success just as negative examples are for failure. Because everybody is exposed to things which are not consistent with God’s Word, many have fallen due to influence of a bad example. If these things control your feelings and your feelings control your faith, you can be a Christian, yet controlled by satans devices. Whose Control Are You Under? Prophet Elisha had Prophet Elijah, the apostles had Jesus Christ, the young Timothy had Apostle Paul. These ought to motivate us to seek a worthy example. A Christian must be known by the fruit of the Spirit – this should be his trademark - Matthew 7:20. When we give ourselves to Christ, we are wired in a unique way. Meaning, we are no longer ourselves in ideas and in behaviour but totally absorbed into the ways of Jesus Christ. We think differently, dream differently and have a sensitivity that we never had; we have the privilege of allowing the Creator of all things assist us in all we do. Deciding to allow oneself to be influenced by the Spirit of Jesus Christ is the best influence anyone can have in life. When we have a relationship with Jesus Christ, we change and become a person who is directed by the Holy Ghost, not by the influence of others. In Acts 16:6-10, the Holy Spirit influenced the Apostles in all their decisions and they acted as if Jesus Christ was the one acting. A Christian should be under the influence of the Holy Spirit in the same manner that a drunkard is under the control of wine. We must be under the government and guidance of the Holy Spirit. He will tell you His opinion of yourself and others. His wisdom will be deposited in your heart; His energy will be poured through you. You will get His idea and work with his projects. Then, you will no longer rely on what is seen, what is heard and what your circumstances look like. What an influence!
