Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry - TopicsExpress

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Prov 21:13 KJV. Here we have the description & doom of an unchartitable man. 1. His description. He stops his ears at the cry of the poor, at the cry of their wants & resolves 2 take no cognizance of them - at the cry of their requests & supplications he resolves he will not so much as give them the hearing, turns them away frm his door, & forbids them 2 come near him - or, if he cannot avoid hearing them, he will not need them, nor b moved by their complaints, nor b prevailed by their impurities - he shuts up the bowels of his compassion - that which is equivalent 2 the stopping of his ears (Acts 7:57). 2. His doom. He shall himself b reduced 2 straits - which will make him cry - & then he shall not b heard. Men will not hear him - but reward him as he rewarded others. God will not hear him - 4 he that showed no mercy shall have judgment w/o mercy (Jas 2:13) - & he that on earth denied a crumb of bread in hell was denied a drop of water. God will b deaf 2 the prayers of those who r deaf 2 the cries of the poor, which, if they b not heard by us, will b heard against us (Ex 22:23). HEAVENLY FATHER, TY 4 Your Word today - 4 I c that unkindness = unsympathetic or cruel behavior - & that it is contrary 2 Your behavior & is condemned is Scripture. Help me, Lord, 2 keep mine ears alert & ready - that I may nvr cease hearing the cry of the poor. Help me 2 also b kind, receptive & charitable 2 the weak, the poor, widows & orphans, foreigners, & servants. & I TY, Father, 4 Your kindness - it is a model 4 believers - & 4 being receptive 2 us - 2 r needs, 2 r cries, 2 r repentance. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. LET NO MAN DECEIVE U•NOT EVEN YOURSELF
