Why 50/05 dont Work In a 50/05 marriage, the onus seems to be on the individuals to each provide 50% of what the marriage needs to survive. Example: 50% the emotional, spiritual, financial and physical needs. In the real world this is not possible; we all have different strength and weaknesses. Our contribution to the marriage should be commensurate with our resource and ability at any given point in time. In a 50/50 marriage when one party fails to deliver the expected 50% for whatever reason, one is usually judged to have failed to perform ones marital responsibility. Then the inevitable happens. Disillusionment, distance and then divorce. In 100% marriages, we invest 100% of ourselves in that relationship. Where one party fails to deliver adequate resource for the sustenance of that relationship. The other is fully willing, ready and able to step up and step in the gap to see the marriage through hard times.
