Why Do I Rescue Horses... There were people bad mouthing a friend of mine & myself because we do not agree with horse slaughter & were saying all kinds of nasty things about us on Facebook & alot of political B.S. I had posted something on Facebook about why I save horses & I dont think I could ever say it any better but this is the actual post it is pretty much black & white: Hey I have to agree with you 100% that with all of this political BS there has been a lot of nasty things said & a lot of people that I have found out are Pro Slaughter & that is fine I believe in FREEDOM OF SPEECH but now it is time for mine. I adore these animals, I rescue them from not so good homes or race tracks, or they are given to me because someone can no longer care for them, but with all the nasty things said & put aside they are animals that can read into your soul, they can smell the fear you try to hide, they can melt your heart & they can break your heart when you have to say good bye. They are giants that could kill us with one devastating blow but would rather avoid the confrontation. When you give a child & their family a horse it becomes a little kids new best friend, it is one of the safest forms of birth control and gang control for teens, they can heal a Veteran of war, they can save a latch key kid, they can change a down syndrome or physically challenged persons life for the better, you can hug them, you can cry on them, you can tell them your deepest darkest secrets & fears & they will never ever look down or badly on you, they can make you feel free, safe, & on top of the world, they can take you places that you could never go. And granted they can step on you, buck you off, or bite you but it is never because they are determined to be cruel & mean only because they do not have a voice to talk to us with and most of the time it is our fault for their actions. And believe it or not they DO cry, they DO show fear, they DO cower, they DO tremble, they DO know their names, they DO understand, they ARE NOT STUPID ANIMALS. To be quite honest if I had any money I would invest it on a big raw piece of land just to set them all free where they could be safe away from slaughter houses & dinner tables, where they could come tell me when they wanted to go out riding not the other way around. Where the weak, sick, crippled, inbred horse could go be a normal horse like the rest for what ever time they had left. But if you have ever taken a moment to look into the eyes of a horse you will see the windows of your soul. And one more thing~ there is NO GREATER JOY than to see a little girls face light up and glow, when you pick her up out of her wheelchair & put her on a new set of legs that she can take anywhere she pleases or when a child that has been a mute all their life talks back to a horse or when a horse gives a Veteran his eyes back after he has lost them fighting for OUR FREEDOM. NOW why do I save horses???????? And personally Id trust a horse with my life before a lot of people, I trust a horse with my heart any day, and Id much rather be surrounded by animals & children for the rest of my life than anything else in the world, they are my two biggest weaknesses . But that is just me. https://youtube/user/AngelHavenRanch
