Why Hell? Why would a loving God create a hell and punishment - TopicsExpress

Why Hell? Why would a loving God create a hell and punishment for people he wants to love? God has a good reason for hell. I want show why God created hell and why hell is necessary. First let me tell you story about nice family. Tom and Sarah met in college during their last year of study. Tom had come from farm country and Sarah was from small town in the Midwestern United States. Tom who was very tall and athletic had played quarterback on his college team. His team had done alright that year finishing 7-4 for the season and had enjoy playing in a minor bowl game. Tom had chosen History as his field of study and picked up a second major in Physical Education. Sarah had studied English. It took as both of them were destined to be teachers. They married about a month before graduation and made plans to settle down somewhere and have a large family. Tom had also surrendered to the ministry and was a youth minister and had gift with working with kids in the church. When they graduated, they bought house in Sarah’s hometown and got jobs the local community college. Tom was named coach of the football team. Sarah would help teach Freshman English. Tom was named youth minister in a local church and Sarah took up teaching the children the Sunday School. All was looking bright when Sarah was told by her doctor she could not have children. They were heartbroken, but soon found specialists and they had triplets. The local wrote a huge story. The local television station even done a piece on them. The students and church got together and did big benefit for them. The day the three girls entered the local public school, there was major event in school’s history. There was lot of excitement and they quickly bonded with students and teachers. Each of the girls were blonde and blue eyed. Lilly loved crafts was always making things. Tess was a little shy and liked to read books. Susan loved to talk and be center of attention. They were also very popular in their church. Late one Saturday tragedy struck this family again. Sarah was grading papers at college while Tom was away from town with the ball team. The girls were at home with a babysitter. Two men with knives broke into the home. They brutally raped and killed the girls and the babysitter. Within days the two men were caught and put in the local jail. Do think the men should be punished for these killings or do think they should be let off with warning? If you are like me, you think the two should go death row and fry without a long line of appeals. This situation demands justice. They brutally killed three 7 year olds and 17 year old girl. If this happened in your own family wouldn’t you want justice? Most would. Why was hell created? For Justice. The devil and his angel rebelled against God. They tried to seize the throne of God and throw God out of heaven. God created Hell for the devil and his angels as just punishment for them. Matthew 25:41 (KJV) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: In this day and age we have forgotten about God. He is Just God. He is a LOVING God. He is a Merciful God. He is a Holy God. He is also an Eternal God. These four major characteristics of God can explain the whole history of the Bible and God motives for doing something. Because God is Holy, God cannot allow sin to enter into his presence. Sin is missing the mark or the standard God has set according to his character. Holiness is purity in God eyes. The standard of Holiness is perfect. This something we all could be benefit by if we could obtain holiness. We cannot go to heaven with holiness. Those who are born again get God’s holiness through Jesus Christ. Without holiness we must go hell, but thank God for other three characteristics of God. God is Just. God is fair according to his standard. His standard is well defined in his laws of the Old Testament. In fairness to God we must meet his standard for entering heaven and having fellowship with him. According to this standard we have nothing to exchange for our sins or missing his standard. We have no dollars to spend. Everything in our lives is worthless in his standard of holiness. That leaves us in bad sort of way. This is why we deserve hell. God is loving or merciful. God wants the best for us. God cares for us. So because he loves us, he must provide a way for us to be with him and go to heaven. If all that matter was love, he could say we are forgiven and let us in without doing nothing, but his justice and holiness matter too. Therefore God must provide a way for us to be with him. The way God provided this love and mercy for us was Jesus Christ. God has the only means of paying our crimes against his holiness. So God had to die to pay for our sins, because our sins deserve death. This is called substitutionary atonement. Jesus died in our place. We get justification by his death for us and accepting it. This is God’s means of our mercy. This why Jesus Christ is necessary. Without him we would go hell according to God standard. Right now you have God’s mercy and it may last a long time, but the time when he had enough he will do something. He’s God. He is in charge. You maybe say wait a minute. How dare you! What makes you think we have to go by God rules and standards? I am just a man. I am just sinner just like the rest all mankind. I put on my shoes the same way you do. I put my pants on the same way you do. I need a doctor just like you do. I bleed the same way you do. I will die just like you do. God is different. God is DIETY. God is ETERNAL. God is every lasting. He is the first and he will be the last. This gives God the right to say what is right and wrong. He will be around a lot longer than any of us. He will be in control. We don’t have control. God has control. Sooner or later he’s gonna take care of us according to his justice system. I don’t make the rules. Some Baptists will go to Hell. Some Catholics will go to HELL. Some Church of Christ will go to HELL. Some Pentecosts will go to HELL. I don’t know who you are or who’s going there. If you are too proud to understand this, you are on your way there. I can’t stop it. You can stop it. You don’t need me to stop it, but you need God. Many men have chosen to rebel against God. They have chosen to sin against God. God is moral God. God is always right. Man is full of flaws and mistakes. Your punishment for not believing that Jesus Christ came and died for you is eternal hell. All have sinned against God and against all those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We all deserve Hell, but thank God, he has saved some. We don’t decide our punishment. God does. One day every knee shall bow and confess that Jesus Christ is LORD. Why not make it today? Philippians 2:5-11 (KJV) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Father God. We love you. We praise you for your justice. We thank you for saving our souls. Thank you for keeping us out of hell. Help the one who needs this message. Help them to understand it. Help them to get something from it. LORD reach out and bring the one who needs this message. Help them LORD! Please be merciful to a sinner such as I. I am wicked in your sight. I sin every day LORD. I mess up somewhere somehow. Thank you LORD. I pray in Jesus Name. AMEN.
