Why I Love the Digital Darkroom: A lifetime of craving - TopicsExpress

Why I Love the Digital Darkroom: A lifetime of craving creativity, and struggling to find my niche, finally led me to an interest in photography. It is now a passionate obsession. I learned the basics, and I grew to understand the critical elements: composition, lighting, exposure, perspective. I also came to realize that, for me, straight out of the camera is the clay on the potters wheel. When I shoot an image it is with the forward-thinking of what I can create, it is the seeing of the possibilities that await me in the digital darkroom, to mold the clay into something beautiful, something unique or inspiring, something that allows me to express myself, my vision, my passion. Sometimes I achieve the final result that I had envisioned, sometimes it just doesnt work, but the creative process is fulfilling, exciting, and good for my soul. This image is a perfect example....a foggy morning on the CA coast. I turned from the harbor and saw this scene behind me, across a parking lot. It spoke of mystery, fantasy, a Middle-Earth sort of feel. The image out of the camera was flat, dull, lackluster, but I knew the potential was there. And then the fun began. This is my passion, and I am so happy to have found it.
