Why I Took the ALS Challenge….and Posted It I was challenged to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by my dear friend, Sharon Behm. After seeing dozens of videos over the past month, I felt posting yet another video was jumping on a trend that – according to some – was already past its prime impact. ALS is a horrific disease that took the life of my beloved math teacher, Burr Brooks, as well as the famed baseball player, Lou Gehrig. Just as Angela Jolie brought media attention to the BRCA1 gene and breast cancer, the current ice bucket challenge has raised awareness of ALS and raised almost $110 mln for research to put an end to this dreadful killer.
