Why I am reiterating again about the flawed Toll system in Maharashtra and why Maharashtra should be rechristened as Tollrashtra. A sample case to prove this point, travel from Mumbai to Shahapur via Eastern Express Way, you first pay Toll at the toll booth before entering Thane ie. Rs 30 , you further move ahead on to Nashik highway and pay another toll at Toll both at Bhivandi by pass which is Rs.37.50 one-way or Rs.43.50 for a return journey at this point , the controversy starts now when you move further on the express highway at just 15kms -20kms before Shahapur there is a toll booth for collection of toll forMumbai Nashik highway , whether you want to go up to Shahapur which is just 20kms away from the toll both or Vasind which is nearer still or many such nearby villages you pay the same toll of Rs.95 which is for the entire stretch up to Nashik. I dont know at how many places this obscurity exist across the state. This is unceremonious State level extortion and must be stopped. By. Shekhar Bopardikar.
