You got it, studies show the average person will consume 4500 calories on Turkey Day. So stay tuned for those tips tomorrow morning because last night we had a moment that will go down in Inspire history. I was transitioning back up stairs to help coach the 6pm boot camp after coaching an hour session with some of my baseball guys when Cathie said we need the ladder we got a wall signing. Awesome, who is it? It is Kathleen Mott she is climbing the ladder to sign the 40 pound wall. This alone is an incredible achievement but for anyone who knows anything about her history this was super special. A little under 11 months ago the Inspire family got the privilege to meet Kathleen. She entered our doors with much anxiety like most do but her concerns where a bit more worrisome because she has MS and was physically not in good shape. Her journey with us started with the unknown if her body was capable because many mornings she would need help to just put on her shoes. She also entered her new journey wondering when her dad who she is extremely close to would talk to her again. Kathleens dad was 100% against her coming to Inspire and participating in our New You challenge which her sister Kristine encouraged her to do. Despite dads anger Kathleen has been making the trip to Inspire from Middletown N.Y. for nearly a year to have the opportunity to climb that ladder last night. Yes, a mother of three with all the other mom responsibilities. It was a great moment as she was cheered standing on the top step of the ladder writing her name. Well at least thats what all of us thought as we began the workout. Approximately 5 minutes into the workout a nice couple walked into our lobby and I walk out to greet them. It was Kathleens parents! They came to see her sign the wall and unfortunately got lost and missed the signing. They asked if they can see where she signed? Of course come on in, as they walked in I lowered the music and stopped the workout. By the way its the first time a workout has ever been completely stopped. I have another announcement this is Kathleens parents who drove here to see her sign the wall. I now officially know that I live in a loving world as the smiles, cheers and emotions rose to an all-time Inspire high. You couldnt find prouder parents on planet earth at that moment. After hugging their daughters because Kristine was working out with Kathleen unknowing she was about to be surprised by the arrival of her parents. Their mom turned and gave me a huge hug with tears in her eyes thanking me. As I turned there was dad hand out as he shook my hand full of emotion saying THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Bill Walsh posted on Facebook one word EPIC about last nights special moment and thats exactly what Kathleens story is epic and its still being written. Her new goal is to climb the ladder to sign the 50 pound wall before January 1. When she achieves this I will then share with you the full story of this amazing soul! Keep Inspiring!
