Why I like Tennis. Non contact (non-militaristic). High degree of athleticism and skill. Very few pituitary mutants in the sport. Women are featured equally and paid equally. The big tournaments are mostly held in the wealthy suburbs of wealthy cities in wealthy nations. Rarely any politics or exploitation of the disenfranchised involved in the background. High degree of ethnic diversity. Fans are enthusiastic but rarely loud mouth f^ck-tards or violent ass-hats. Equal parts strategy and physical ability (business apologue) The hardest opponent is invariably self (life apologue) Some of the meltdowns are epic. Some of the wins are epic. Teaches situational awareness and control. Teaches self-awareness and self-discipline. Is a meditation on many of human-kinds finer qualities. A riot has never broken out as the result of a match... Despite every tournament being a virtual UN summit. No one has ever gotten bitten on court, during match play (Ilie Năstase?) Some of these athletes are actually good role models, and very modest about it (not Ilie Năstase). Did I mention the bit about women being treated equally -and the almost complete absence of loud-mouth, violent, ignorant, painted, grotesque, drunken asshole fans?
