Why Im Not Going to Break a Leg: It was a year ago when doctors - TopicsExpress

Why Im Not Going to Break a Leg: It was a year ago when doctors first told me to come home from tour. I had whats called a giant cell tumor, developing in my tibia bone below my right knee. Everyone was awesome, from the guys in the band, to Dustin from Finding Favour filling in for the rest of the tour. Our unofficial band member Scott Mills filled in for a Christmas tour. Fans let me know their support with prayers and kind words. Surgery went well. 3 months of crutches, rehab and I was back at it this Spring with B429 and FF5. I got to run in the Hands and Feet Run For Love in Nashville and really felt great. It had been an incredible year and Im not taking anyone, anything or any day for granted. Just a few weeks ago I went for my 9 month follow up and was told that the tumor was back. I was shocked. This didnt fit into my little box of problem, pray, fixed. But theres a verse I clung to all last year, and Im clinging to it still. The righteous person faces many troubles, But The Lord comes to the rescue each time. For The Lord protects the bones of the righteous; Not one of them is broken! - Psalm 34 : 19-20 So there you have it. Many troubles. Plural. But God is bigger each time. My bones still havent broken. Ive been booked in for surgery on Tuesday, October 14th, the day after Canadian Thanksgiving. This is a blessing that Ive got a date so quickly. Unfortunately this means Ill be missing the Thank God For Something Tour. But I wanted to thank you for your continued prayers and for a great year. Im excited to get through this battle and share our new album Diamonds with you in 2015. Until then - tweet me @danbiro :) Daniel
