Why Life of Sayyidah Zahra Was Delibrately Mystified- Sheikh Zakzaky By Ibrahim Usman The life and times of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was deliberately mystified, distorted and in some cases kept in the dark in order to dissuade minds of the people from the real message of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA). Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) made the disclosure at the first day of the mourning session of martyrdom of daughter of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWA), at the Hussainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria, Nigeria. While condoling the Muslim Ummah over the martyrdom of Sayyidah Zahra (AS), Sheikh Zakzaky (H) lamented that the unfortunate death of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was mystified the extent that, many Muslims were ignorant of history of her life. He said, the mere fact that many people were ignorant over an issue does not disqualify the issue as non-existent. “In our world today, there are about 8 billion of inhabitants, and out of this number a little above 2 billion are Muslims. Muslims are not up to one-fourth of the world population. The rest of the world population does not believe that Prophet Muhamad (SAWA) is the Seal of the Prophets. Does that authenticate their belief? No! Therefore, the truth is never measured by the number of people”, he pointed out. Divine Status of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) Sheikh Zakzaky (H) further explained that, it is all in Islamic books including Sunni sources that Sayyidah Zahra (AS) is the Leader of Women of all times, Leader of Women of Paradise, Leader of Women of this Ummah, etc, adding that this divine position is not without corresponding action which qualified her for this divine status. He said, for Sayyidah Zahra (AS) to earn this high position within a life span of about 18-20 years, she was tested, as many prophets were tested, and she passed the test. Agony of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) “Sayyidah Zahra for 75 days after the death of her father spent the rest of her days crying. The greatest agony that befell Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was the separation with her father, the Prophet which could have moved a mountain as she pointed out. He said, the people of Medinah complained of her cry for the loss of her father as a disturbance, which a house of sorrow was built for in the outskirt of the city , where sped the rest of her days crying. “The agony that befell Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was kept in the dark, and people were made ignorant of this episode. For one to openly disclose this in this era will be a catastrophe”. Questions That Need Answers The Leader called for rationale thinking coupled with clear narrations to get to the truth over what happened to the daughter of the Holy Prophet (SAWA) after his death. “How did she die? Who performed her burial? Where was she buried? How comes no hadith was attributed to her? All these questions which need answers, will show that something was amiss”, said Zakzaky. Sayyidah Zahara (Siddiqa)- the Trusworthy He cited the narration by Ibn Abil Hadid, al-Mu’tazil, who said Sayyidah Zahara (AS) did not deserve what these people had done to her, but surprisingly defended them by saying they knew better why they did what they have done! He also cited a hadith by A’isha, wife of the Holy Prophet (SAWA), who said, “I have never seen a person so honest and truthful after the Holy Prophet than Fatimah (AS)”. Sheikh Zakzaky said with this undisputed testimony, it is great wonder how Sayyidah Zahra (AS)’s statement was disputed and rejected regarding ownership of Fadaq, an orchard given to her by her father. He said, all the witnesses presented by Sayyidah Zahra (AS)- her husband, twin children, Ummu Ayman, were outwardly rejected, adding that that singular unfortunate situation justified Sunni scholar to prohibit spouses and children from being witnesses in their Fiqh books. The testimony of Ummu Aymana that the Holy Prophet (SAWA) gave Sayyidah Zahra (AS), was rejected because they claimed she was from black race, who knew no Arabic so well. “If that is so, then let there be a new Fiqh that testimonies of black people should be prohibited to this day, because black people are not truthful and trustworthy”, he argued. Fadaq in History Sheikh Zakzaky stressed that, they deliberately looked the other way and rejected the testimony of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) regarding Fadaq because, if that they had accepted it, then she would be established as the truthful and trustworthy, and she might also further justify the Imamate of Ali as the Successor of the Holy Prophet (SAWA). “For fear of this and other emerging truths she might have presented, they rejected her testimony as false. Why should she be regarded trustworthy on one issue and a liar in another? For them to do away with the issue of Fadaq, they decided to keep it in the dark and many people remained ignorant of it”. He said, the issue of Fadaq had haunted them until the reign of Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz, who handed it over to her children, and it was later taken away from them. The Silent Burial The obvious fact that no one knows the grave of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) also remains questionable, said Zakzaky. He also questioned why Sayyidah Zahra (AS) prohibited some people from attending her burial rites. To buttress this point, he cited the book of Ibn Taymiyyah, Minhajus Sunah, where presented an erroneous answer that Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was ignorant of the reward of mass burial ritual! Hadith of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) “Why is there no hadith attributed to Sayyidah Zahra (AS), when she had lived with her father in Mecca where it is reported that, she helped him dress the injuries he sustained, and he migrated with her?” Sheikh Zakzaky asked. According to him, they also twisted the story of migration, where they claimed the triumphant entry of Madinah did not include Sayyidah Zahra (AS). They claimed the Prophet (SAWA) entered Medinah with someone, which Zakzaky said was a contradictory and false claim. He said, Sunni sources have indicated that, the Prophet (SAWA) branched at Quba Mosque, where he performed the first Friday prayer and waited for the arrival of Imam Ali (AS) together with Fatimah Zahra (AS), Fatimah Bint Asad, Fatimah Bint Hamzah and Ummu Ayman. “Now that Sayyidah Zahra (AS) had lived in Mecca with her father and migrated with him, does that mean she did not hear a single word or statement from her father, and nothing is narrated from her? They may claim that she did not live long after her father, but then what of those close to her? For instance, Ummu Ayman, who had lived with Sayyidah Zahra (AS), did she not hear a word from Sayyidah Zahra (AS). What of her children Hassan and Hussain, who were then grown up to report from their mother? Even Not even a single hadith is attributed to Sayyidah Zahra (AS) in the authentic (Sahih), the second book to Qur’an, as they claim it to be. Her children, Hassan and Hussain lived some 50 years after her, and her husband, Ameerul Mu’meneen (AS) lived about 30 years after her. Sayyidah Zainabul Kubra also lived after Hassan and Hussain. It is confirmed that, Zainabul Kubra’s sermon is a replica of her mother’s; does that means she did not hear anything from her mother?” Sheikh Zakzaky said from all the obvious facts surrounding the life and times of Sayyidah Zahra (AS), something must be heard from these people, and even from her housemaid, Fiddha, Ummu Ayman, her children and close associates. He said, there was a potential danger to express the ahadith (narrations) of Sayyidah Zahra (AS), as other issues might also arise to the dislike of some people. Sheikh Zakzaky cited a hadith from Sayyidah Zahra (AS), where she reported the Mi’iraj (Heavenly Journey) of the Holy Prophet (SAWA) at which he heard the correct call to prayer (Azan and Iqamah), as against the faulty one narrated which was arrived at through consensus (Shura) between the Prophet and the Companions. A Grave Unknown “Why has the grave of Sayyidah Zahrah still remains unknown? They have no answer to offer”. Sheikh Zakzaky pointed out that, this question that needs answer, and which they could not answer, has testified that the death of Sayyidah Zahra (AS) was unquestionable. He said, the death, burial and grave location of daughter of the Holy Prophet (SAWA) should in a normal situation be known to all, and not kept in the dark. The Leader stressed that, Sayyidah Zahra (AS) is not just the daughter of the Prophet, but a special being with divine qualities and unmatched position before Allah under the care of his messenger. This is why, he said, they promoted that she was not the only daughter of the Prophet. He however said, Sayyidah Zahra (AS) and her issue could not just be buried easily. Let Us Reason Sheikh Zakzaky concluded by calling for an independent reasoning and rational thinking, as the best way of getting out the pitch darkness into the glowing light. He said, the truth can never be buried and all things to remain quiet and peaceful, “It is like sitting on dynamite, hiding the truth is never a solution as it remains forever the truth”. The day ahadith (narrations) of Sayydah Zahra (AS) is made public, you will know why it is hidden in the first place, and then there will be no need for the ahadith of other women. This because Sayyidah Zahra (AS) is closer to the Prophet than them; she is a segment of the Prophet”.
