Why Pharisees & Sadducees, Though Influential & Intelligent, - TopicsExpress

Why Pharisees & Sadducees, Though Influential & Intelligent, Failed To Uplift Man Like Jesus Did ? First of all, who were the Pharisees ? They were and continue to be the influential wise men who believed in the Laws of Moses from the time those laws were passed on orally to the present time when they these are written. The foundation of the US Constitution and many other constitutions are the Laws of Moses. The Pharisees also maintained that an after-life existed and that God punished the wicked and rewarded the righteous in the world to come. They also believed in a messiah who would herald an era of world peace. [Source: jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/sadducees_pharisees_essenes.htm] And who were the Sadducees ? They were and continue to be the Elite who believe in priesthood. It has been reported that their bigger concern are the rituals or traditions linked to the Temple. But the past priests did not believe in any resurrection or life after death. If you reflect on their situation from past to present, you will encounter the question: why did they fail to live like Jesus did ? Do you not observe that they are still failing to live like Jesus did even up to the present ? For the only Son of God lived a physical life of good examples leading to improvements in lives of believers, at least in faith, in practicing their livelihood, and in increasing the number of faithful followers within just three (3) years of teaching & preaching. In fact, Jesus performed so well that He caused ALARM from government, Pharisees, and Sadducees because within three (3) years, the chosen people of God grew in number. And they were following Jesus. Jesus went fishing with His apostles. He harvested with His apostles. These are not figurative language. Fishing meant really going out into the sea. Harvesting meant really working like a farmer. More than that, Jesus lived like a doctor healing the sick, aside from revealing Himself as God by raising the dead to life. The Pharisees and Sadducees had great influence with government authorities and people who had plenty of money. Yet they failed to love the greater majority of Gods followers. There is one major reason why Jesus succeeded in fulfilling the laws of God while Pharisees & Sadducees were described to have done only lip service to God. Jesus truly loved His fellowmen, especially the poor. He saw their importance and experienced hardships of the poor, while the ELITISTS simply satisfied mostly themselves. And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors. [Luke 22:25 ] Darby In contrast, Jesus lived among the masses and served the masses, without the comfort, convenience, influence, wealth, and power of Pharisees, Sadducees, and government officials. Relating this to our present world, it will take such a man of the masses to uplift our present world.
