Why Philly you may ask? Well, when it comes to travel and planning Carmen is like a detective. We were flying with the miles with the miles we have earned from American. If we flew from New York it wouldve cost us 450 additonal dollars each, plus a 19 hour lay over. Wouldve had to rent a hotel. Probably another 300. But flying from Philly itd cost us only 50 dollars and wed fly directly into Venice. Duh! But Carmens injury was worrisome. But theres this Red Cap service in Penn Station for people who need assistance. And its FREE. Someone came with a wheel chair and got Carmen and our luggage. And we were the first to board the train. Make sure to tip the guy really well. They have precious cargo. When we got to Philly there was someone waiting for Carmen. And we had called the airport and we got service there too. The people who do this job and the kindess people in the service industry. Of course we were some of the first people to board the plane. They got us an empty row so CArmen could put her leg up. Traveling with need of assistance is the best way to travel. People are kind and do whatever to make one feel comfortable. We get to Venice and theres someone waiting for Carmen. And guess what? We go to the front of the line in immigation. And we get driven to the Valporete. I think thats how its spelled. A water bus. Carmen got baptized immediately when a water taxi going in the opposite direction splashed water into our bus through an opened window hitting Carmen. I was missed although I was sitting next to her. REPORT: Carmens foot is doing better. Shes only using one crutch now. The boot has been incredible. One more thing, we have turned our phones off and are only using the hotel?s computer. Our provider told us that the roaming charges from europe could run into the thousands of dollars. Thats why we arnt posting any pics. Our phones are on airplane mode. Weve taken many pics. Thanks to Luis Antonio for the heads up in phone charges. We have caught up now. Next on the Venice experience.
