Why Should You Care About Social Media? Before the age of MySpace or Facebook, social media was nearly obsolete. Today, there are numerous social media outlets for businesses, individuals, political figures, organizations, and even whole cities and countries. They can express their beliefs, comment on local events, and promote themselves or something that they support. What once was contained mostly to the younger generation now encapsulates both pets and people from birth to 105. With 93% of businesses using social media for marketing purposes, it’s no surprise that those with an interest in social media and public relations have consistently higher profits. It is a powerful and popular tool that will continue to drastically change and improve worldwide communication and trends. The benefits of social media undeniably outweigh the risks and skepticism, and it will be an influential component in the ever-changing world that we live in.
