Why Yes will win the referendum I am a German citizen living - TopicsExpress

Why Yes will win the referendum I am a German citizen living since 3 1/2 years in Scotland, so I see things from a bit different perspective. I still cant believe that there are still so many no voters. Scotland has so much t win and so little to lose with independance. Scotland has so many resources, not only oil, but renewable energy like wind, tidal and solar. As a lot of you might know Germany has a leading position in renewable energy, not only for their own use, but also in exporting technology and whole power plants. This could be also Scotlands way to go. Scotland has the manpower to go this route, intellectual, inventive and innovative. And there is still tourism, whisky export, agriculture and fishing etc. Scotland has so many resources unlike a lot of other countries which got independance, it will have the best start into the future ever: No debts, oil, renewable energy, the people of Scotland... And by the way, what Darling said in the debate with Salmond, that every country which joined the EU after 1996 has to join the Euro, is a lie. I.e. Poland joined the EU in 2003, and Poland has opted out of the Euro, a referendum showed with a big majority that people wanted to keep the Szloty, and they did and still do. That was another scare mongering from the no campaign. From my point of view I cant understand the fear a lot of people have. No country that got independance has ever looked back, even the smallest banana republics. Especially older people are afraid, that the prices go up, that their pension isnt safe... I can tell you that your pension is a lot safer with independance than with the union, or in Germany for that matter. Even Westminster admitted that the pensions are safe and will be paid as usual. When Scotland hopefully gets its independance (it better gets it, I want to party at the 19th lol) the start might be a wee bit rocky, but thats nothing to fear, it will also a learning curve and the experience and chance of a lifetime.
