Why after so many years of blatant antisemitism do we continue to be surprised by the worlds response. The anti Israeli sentiment is a convenient substitute for antisemitism. We repeatedly ask how the world cannot see the obvious double standard applied to Israel. The answer is that they can, they just choose not to. There are no end of examples: the multiple biased resolutions passed at the UN, the Israeli efforts to avoid civilian casualties, the rewriting of history painting Israel as the aggressor and so on. We can go on forever becoming increasingly frustrated by the blatant unfairness. To think that this tiny country, this small group of about 13 million WORLD WIDE poses such a threat to the world and behaves so abominably is just ludicrous. We all know how the massacres that take place in Sudan, Syria, Rwanda etc make Gaza seem like a school yard fight and yet Israels simple defense of its peoples basic rights is said to be a crime against humanity. We should stop trying to convince ourselves and each other and just accept that we are the victims of the same antisemitism that has plagued our people for thousands of years. The difference is that when we say NEVER AGAIN we mean it and tG we have Israel to back it up.
