Why are so many people upset over the policy that allows Illegals to serve in the Military? The idea that all illegals are bastards who hate America is idiotic. Yes, there are going to be bad people coming into America along side the normal and good people. An open border isnt the only way for someone to enter the country illegally. If I were a British citizen with a passport, I could plan a trip to Disney World and fly from London to Orlando and then just disappear into the crowd. Most of what you see on TV is fear mongering and hype so dont dwell over it. How can you be opposed to amnesty and also opposed to this? Honestly, if an illegal immigrant wants to be a meat shield, let them be a meat shield. If the polls are correct, Americans dont want their sons and daughters fighting Obamas WW3, so again, what is wrong with allowing an illegal alien to voluntarily serve in the military? If your White Catholic son joined the US Army, we would call them a Patriot but if an Illegal Mexicans son joins the US Army, we would call them what? Think about this for a moment. Someone, who has NO obligation to participate in any aspect of American society CHOOSES to join a branch of the US Armed forces. I know several Hispanic individuals who became American Citizens after aiding US troops in combat operations in Central and South America. Saying that you dont want Illegals to serve in the military is exactly the same as saying that blacks shouldnt have been allowed to serve in the military during Vietnam. THE REALITY IS that if someone, no matter where they come from, no matter what color their skin or language they speak, volunteers to serve in the US Military, we should applaud them. You dont want illegals here, okay so lets send them over there. You can yell about the possibility for another Fort Hood incident but in reality, a shooting at a military base could happen anytime and be carried out by anyone. The solution? Station more MPs on the damn base. Good guys with guns will stop bad guys with guns. You can scream about the constitutionality of it, but unless you are actually going to do something to enforce the Constitution, no one cares what the founders envisioned. If I had any say in it, all Illegals would be required to serve in the military for 5 years or 3 combat deployments before being granted citizen status. Take or leave it. Pick a side. Either stand up for the Constitution or sit down and shut up. Complaining about illegals doesnt do a damned thing to stop the hordes of them coming into America. If you REALLY had your heart in the game, you would have taken a week off from work and flown down to a border state to help block the roads coming into the US from MX. But yes, lets all blabble in the echo chamber and hope Rand Paul can solve all our problems. Thanks.
