Why did it take me almost fifty years to realize just how incredible I Feel Free truly is? Never paid it much attention until it turned up on a commercial a few weeks back. Stuck pretty much to White Room and Sunshine of Your Love. I Feel Frees lyrics were written by Pete Brown, and its music by Jack Bruce, who died about a week ago. Jack Bruce was such a great writer and bass player. Well miss him. Cream was one of the original super groups: Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton. It doesnt get much better than that. Used to sit in a dorm room and listen to music like this on a 3/4 reel-to-reel tape deck hitched to gianormous speakers. No wonder Ive got tinnitus. We blew the apart the dorm at St, Pauls College, University of Waterloo. The engineering students used to love to build big music rigs. What a time!
