Why do I hold on so strongly to the Bible and biblical theology? - TopicsExpress

Why do I hold on so strongly to the Bible and biblical theology? Simple, humans and human theology are flawed. That being said, I also prefer a set codified universal rule-book, over peoples opinions. Im not anti-authority, Im just against (human) authority placing itself equal to, or above, that codified universal rule-book. Without that codified universal rule-book being the highest authority, being above all human authority, there can be no unification of all humanity. The reason the Church, and mankind in general, is so divided, is because Church leadership, and humans in general, place themselves equal to, or above, that codified universal rule-book. No human is that special as to be equal to, let alone above, that codified universal rule-book, the Bible. Everyone that contradicts the Bible makes themselves out to be a competing Bible, defeating the purpose of the Bible, that being a codified universal rule-book by which all humanity must submit. If you are equal to, or otherwise above, the Bible, how on earth can anyone validate your teachings? Trust? No way. Faith? Not in you. By asking you if you are right? Who do you think you are, God? By special revelation? God knows that a house divided can not stand and thus would not contradict himself nor offer contradictory information. If you cant point back to the Bible as a whole, its at best questionable, and at worst heresy. Pastors, teachers, preachers, and administrators of the Church, do yourselves and all of us a big favor. Humble yourselves and make the Bible the one and only codified universal rule-book over yourselves and over the whole Church.
