Why do Tories hold up the private sector as a force for good? What is it about the total wreckage of our train "system" - expensive, unsafe, slow, unresponsive, uninterested in its passengers with its disaffected, badly-trained staff, who are usually left to fend for themselves with angry "customers" (f&*k off) in the face of monumental systemic management incompetence? Oh wait, that would be because it is an incredibly efficient way to empty the public purse into private pockets - i.e. theirs and their mates, I remember.
