Why do most things just slide off my back but little things bother me? Per this article, Mat-Su Senior Services Development Manager Donna Harding said it’s up to the Butte, Palmer, Wasilla (Central Mat-Su) and Willow fire departments, and the Alaska State Troopers... Houston Fire Department (of Alaska) has been involved in Santa Cop & Heroes since the second year it was active. Always. Every year. In fact, I think we were the first or second fire department to get involved in the program. This year is no different. I guess we dont matter? Or after 5 years Oops we forgot about you? How could that be? We are here for the community, but it gets REAL tiring to consistently be left out of any acknowledgements given for deeds. We have 6 people who have come to the station every Christmas to deliver gifts since we got involved in 2009. Itd be nice if one time, after years of involvement, they get the acknowledgement that the sponsors know is important (hence they ALWAYS thank the others as much as possible every year). Sorry about being so upset about this, but I am. It really feels like an insult. We dont do it for appreciation, but itd be nice to get some when the other departments do. Grr.
