Why do people always exaggerate about how early they get up in the - TopicsExpress

Why do people always exaggerate about how early they get up in the morning? Is it some form of rebellion against the dropkick image of sleeping in til pretty much afternoon, favoured by so many arseholes of a different variety? I find the one sure way to get an answer to any message I send in the morning, is to simply enquire: Are you awake? People usually respond promptly to that, as if it might garner them some sort of an existential little star next to their name in the ledger of life. Do they think it looks go-getterish to rise early when it isnt strictly required? It barely looks go-getterish, even when theres actual go-gettin being done. I appreciate it when people represent themselves honestly, even when I do not necessarily appreciate what they represent, and by that token, I tend to lose a bit of respect for those who merely pay lip service to the tendencies they admire.
