Why do people assume that you are not equipped to raise a child that is of a different ethnic group than yourself. I mean after all we are just people. Our future second child is African American and I admit that I dont know everything, and that I may never understand some of the issues he might have as he grows up. But I have a mouth to ask questions about those things I dont know and an ear to listen to his troubles. All I see when I look at him is a little boy that loves us unconditionally and that we adore just as much. He has the world at his finger tips and I will do all I can to ensure that he maximizes those opportunity. Amazingly I have had both and African Americans and Caucasians question our decision to adopt him. Some lady said to me there goes another black boy trying to be white. Ignorance is abundant.
