Why do we always release our Orthodox Jewish All Stars videos in conjunction with Chanukah? Because during the times of Chanukah (and many other points in Jewish history) it was illegal to practice Judaism openly. In much of the world today, we are (thankfully) free to observe, yet the vast majority of Jews view observance as a thing that holds them back as opposed to something that could bring added meaning to their success. There is no Greek army keeping us from our heritage today - it is misinformation that is our greatest foe. Our hope at Jew in the City is that our All Stars motivate Jews to take advantage of those precious freedoms we have today and explore their birthright. It is then up to every individual to decide how to use that information...
