Why do we fight for quotas for women on boards? It is a myth that current recruiting practices are based on quality alone. Despite years of rhetoric about the need for women in top decision making bodies, and female graduates outnumbering men, little has changed. It makes good business sense to have more diverse boards and quotas lead companies to have more quaity based recruitment. We believe there should be equality at all levels but this is currently being blocked by Member States, once again meeting today on this issue. This is simply not good enough!
