Why do we need genetically engineered crops?? Monsantos argument is that we need them to feed the masses. After you have proven their other arguments false; that the science is proven (not), that the technology is precise and safe (not), or that its just like traditional crossbreeding on steroids (not), it will eventually come to the biotec propaganda theme: we have a moral imperative to feed the hungry by continuing to use GMOs. In reality we have a moral imperative to stop lining the pockets of those who dont care about public safety or feeding the hungry, but just want their industry to flourish at any cost. The organization Stop Hunger Now says Abundance, not scarcity, best describes the worlds food supply We have more food per person than any time in history. The real tragedy is that starvation is not usually associated with lack of food but with political or social problems. So the biotec industry continues to pump out food filled with risk to humanity for what reason again? Yep. Because its profitable to them, not us. We can feed the world on safe, trusted, proven crops. Buy organic. Vote with your mouth.
