Why do we put UK manufacturing down so much?: Whether its our nations natural ability to put ourselves down, or perhaps we just love queuing behind the notion that UK manufacturing hasn’t advanced beyond the Morris Marina, but even in the wake of some fantastic British made products, in my industry, (i.e. kitchens) just as much as in the car industry, its hard not to notice the Brit bashing at times. But surely a good proportion of it is misplaced? Us humans do love our stereotypes and whilst it is true that Germany for example make some great cars does it hold true that the Germans are the best at manufacturing everything, and do they make the most reliable and resilient products, be they cars or kitchens? Well according to 46,000 drivers surveyed by Auto Express (for the 2013 Most reliable car), no traditional German brand has a car inside the top 10 most reliable, and the benchmark of advertising ‘German made build quality’, namely the VW Golf, wasn’t even featured in the top50? read more dlvr.it/3dLjf2
