Why do we use deodorizers and disinfectants? Deodorizer is applied to difficult odors that are embedded deep in the carpet fibers..such as pet urine...In some cases it is recommended that the cleaning specialists double deodorize an affected carpet to maximize results. In these cases the carpet is pretreated with a disinfectant prior to the cleaning (killing 90% of the bacteria) and deodorizer is applied directly after the cleaning. Disinfectants are used when the carpet fibers have been saturated for an extended period of time...The application of disinfection kills most of the germs and bacteria that prosper in a moist environment.. thus greatly reducing the likelihood of mold and mildew from taking hold.
