Why does Proton need protection from Perodua? Isnt Perodua our national automobile and a local brand as well? Instead of blindly protecting Proton, would it not be better to assess its weaknesses and make it more competitive? The role of Proton should not be one of making money just locally but being a source of foreign revenue, if it cannot compete locally after 28 odd years, how is it supposed to compete internationally?
