Why does anyone listen to Rush Limbaugh? Mr. Limbaugh is one of those people who grew up under the separate but equal Jim Crow laws and could not see that they kept a people in bondage almost 100 years after the Civil War ended. He and his circle were one of those who would disparage African American people right in front of them and then, when it was pointed out to him that an African American was standing right there would say it was alright to talk that way because they knew what was being said was true, or would be surprised that "one of them" was there because they were beneath notice. After the Civil War, white folks fell into one of three groups. Group 1 was your rabid unrepentient Southerner who, to this day still hates Yankees. Group 2 believed that the war was won and now everyone was free and had equality. Group 3 falls between the other two. This is the group that believes everyone should be free, but that no race can be equal to the white race. They stand there and appear so kind and understanding and friendly while behind your back they are passing stricter voting rights and making it harder to get help to get ahead. They believe that giving things to Black people is a form of slavery to the white man when they want them to have that dependency. Mr. Limbaugh falls into this category. Beware of the people in group 3! Their form of democracy is against everything that a lot of good people died to achieve both black and white. To fall under the sway of men like Rush Limbaugh is to dishonor these people and their memory.
