Why does the International Whaling Commission (IWC), not enforce Icelands illegal whaling? There is an international ban on the commercial hunting of whales. Iceland hunts and kills endangered Minke and Fin whales for Japan! “Iceland’s escalating whale hunts are clear and wilful abuses of the IWC’s moratorium as well as the ban on international commercial trade in whale products,” states the report issued by the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA), the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) and the Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC). Come on governments - censure both these countries and impose sanctions against them, and while you are about it clamp down on Denmark and its Faroe islands.
