Why doesnt this marvelous singer get more attention? MATT MONRO (1930-1985) was a British singer best known for his recording of Born Free for the film of the same name, but deserves to be placed in the pantheon alongside Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, et al. Frank Sinatra said of him, “If I had to choose three of the finest male vocalists in the singing business, Matt would be one of them.
