Why is it so hard for us to tell the truth? What do we gain when - TopicsExpress

Why is it so hard for us to tell the truth? What do we gain when we lie to someone? Why is it a very critical decision to make? Are we worried that they might be hurt? Or they might be upset? Or scared that they might not trust us again? For me, I would really appreciate it if i hear the truth even when it hurts, but sometimes, we cover up things to make things easier not knowing that it’s already lying. Another thing that I noticed, whenever we’re busted, we tend to make stories to cover up our lies which lead us to lie again and again and again until there’s such time where we can’t get out of the mess we’ve made. I personally don’t like it when people lie to me, I feel betrayed and it really gives me this kind of feeling that is so upsetting and depressing. Once there was a time that I’ve been lied to, I ended up crying, feeling sorry for myself. It made me feel like I’m a total idiot. But when I got over it, I realized that it wasn’t me who’s been the idiot it’s the person who lied to me. Oh well, I rather be frank about something than to give false hopes and comfort a person with a lie because it really eats me. Remember... Lying is also cheating!! Jerose
