Why is it that we as women actually think we can teach our sons how to be men? Why is it AFTER the most influential years of his life passes by then *ding ding ding** it hits us. Then we want to send our sons to their father to clean up the psychological mess weve made of our sons. We will say come do something with YOUR son. Really now he belongs to the father? Didnt he all this time? Now that we have instilled or attempted to force our warped definition of manhood on our sons, coddled them almost beyond repair, not realizing that saying you dont need a man undercuts the masculine principle in your son, because if we are telling our son that a man isnt needed, then what type of man will he become? And after ALL of that....then we want their father to wave their magic wand and magically fix their sons and will have the nerve to condemn them if our sons remain the way WE taught them. - Via Sister Nojma Muhammad
