Why not move the landfill instead of closing off these gorgeous, already groomed, paid for, and unique trails? How many thousands of volunteer hours and how much borough, state, and federal funds have been going into improving this "park" that the Borough is now saying is and always was a landfill? Surely we can leave this beauty. CLEAN BURN instead of taking this park! Or move the landfill to one of the many empty gravel pits in the Mat-Su. And especially, who decided to put a landfill in PALMER, the windiest place on earth (okay, at least in the Valley)? Please reconsider; the Crevasse Moraine trails are fantastic! They are used by bikers, walkers, dog walkers, horseback riders, joggers, skiers, the schools (especially sports teams), and for many community events. There has GOT to be an alternative to destroying them, and the current destruction of Trail 12, way ahead of "schedule" is a horrible thing to do when you promised the public you would delay this at least 3 years.
