Why should it even HAVE to be broadcast on the news as a reminder to pet owners to bring in their cats and dogs and anything else that lives and breathes on a night like this? If you leave your pet outside in this cold, below zero weather, you dont deserve to have the pet -- plain and simple. I understand some animals are in their natural habitat outside, but Im not calling a bear or a deer a pet. No cat or dog is comfortable trying to sleep, eat or stand in snow and wind that makes the air they breathe feel like 30 below zero. Im sick of seeing video on the news of someones pet outside braving the wind and blowing snow, looking for a place to find cover; looking for food and water that is frozen solid. They are supposed to be family. If you need a reminder to take your dog or cat in at night, please give him or her to someone who cares.
