Why should you support The Billboard Project? Think about the billboards you encounter on a daily basis. Drivers on expressways, highways, toll roads, and side streets. You dont need to stop to read billboard messages - they are huge and can be seen from a far distance. The Billboard Project is targeted at just that, Highway Billboards. Our message is clear and concise: Saving the Dogs of San Antonio through Fostering and Responsible pet ownership. With a billboard sized version of our message we at SSAD can integrate that mentality into the community of San Antonio. Each year, thousands of dogs are killed at Animal Control Services. This is unacceptable. We want people to realize that they have control over what happens to these animals. Many do not realize that Fostering is an option. So much can happen if the people are made aware of the problem and know what some of the solutions are. They can connect their role in saving lives - with the needs of the animals, the agencies, and the volunteers. If they are unaware of the gravity of the situation, everyone loses - if they are informed, everyone can win - especially the dogs! A vision with size and clarity of a Billboard can stimulate and motivate people from all walks of life. Everyone has something to offer -- time, money, space, food, shelter, love, the ability to share the plight of the animals, transport, advise, medical, and of course, Fostering.
