Why the Word Fails Text: Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword... Our anchor text demonstrates how potent the word of God is. Our previous write up, also, we established that the word of God is infallible. However, there are times in our lives, when we know the truth, apply it and then no result is got. The word of God does not die. In fact, Gods Word is designed not to return to Him void until it has accomplished the reason for which it was sent. Therefore, if you are not seeing the word of God being expressed in your life constantly and consistently, I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with the Word. The challenge of so many of us is that we do not have our gaze fixed on the truth of Gods word. We try to balance it with world experience. Nevertheless, the only way to live a continuous victorious life God has designed for us, is to be a Word addict. Take the account of Peter as an example, the word of God came to him to walk on water- which he did, at least for a while. As long as his heart was fixed on the Word- Christ, he was fine, but the moment his heart went off the Word and considered the nature of the world, he couldnt maintain that glorious lifestyle of walking with Christ over the waves of the sea. You see that? The Scripture puts it this way in James 1:6-8, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in his ways. James later established that it is not the person that takes a glance at the perfect law of liberty that wins, rather, a man that keeps looking at it.(James1:25). The word of God relies on your consistency to express itself constantly in your life. Enforce the truth on your spirit man every time until it becomes part of you permanently. In itself, the Word does not fail. Prayer: Gracious Father, help me to fix my mind consistently on your word, in Jesus name. Confession: I am a Word addict. The word of God is working for me always, in Jesus name. Further Reading: James 1:23-25
