“Why videos are a waste of time: I hardly watch videos when it - TopicsExpress

“Why videos are a waste of time: I hardly watch videos when it comes to learning. I would rather read text. With video, I am unable to speed-read, I cannot scan and I cannot locate parts immediately that I want to look into. There is also no search function in video where I am able to find a particular word or phrase and locate it all over. There is also no copy and paste certain parts from one place to another. It is a real waste of my precious and valuable time going through 3 hours of video just to pick up 3 minute of new value adding stuff. In order to use my time with maximum efficiency, I will always go for text over video. I will only watch video when it is very short, or I am able to know that it is highly probably to contain lots of new vital stuff that is worth my time watching to learn. On the flip side, I also choose to present my information in text over video or even audio. With text, I can always edit it any time I want. With video, the mistakes would remain being replayed over and over again in future, and editing it is a lot more hassle. Even audio is easier to edit with the same voice in future, but with video the looks of a person and the environment will change over time. With audio, if the voice provider is no longer around, one cannot edit with the same voice. Even finding someone with a similar voice is a hassle. Besides, any smart person would still want to read the transcript of a video or audio instead in order to get the words right or even to scan through. Text also takes up less storage space and is faster for data transmission. Therefore for maximum efficiency of time usage, text is still the best format to learn from, and text is the best format to present and store information for eternity.” - Enoch Mind Reality Click “Share” if you want others to read this.
