Why vote? For everyone it is a personal decision. In 1988, I lived in London Ontario. I voted for the Conservative candidate Terry Clifford. His closest opponent was Liberal Garnet Bloomfield. There were 48,358 votes cast in our riding. Did my vote count? After a recount or two, the final tally was decided by eight votes. (That is 8. Yes the single digit.) Terry Clifford had won. It was the first election I had participated in and I said I would never miss another because of the experience. If I had changed my mind and voted Liberal along with 4 other people, the decision would have been different. Or if I did not vote along with 8 others and a few spoiled ballots? There are many combinations of slightly different scenarios that would have sent a different candidate to Ottawa from London at that time. So, yes a single vote DOES make a difference. During this election, I will assist as many people as possible to ensure their vote is heard.
