Why was HaSatans tree called the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? I find it interesting that many Christians when pressed are unaware that there were two significant trees in Eden. The other tree is the Tree of Life. -The Tree of Life, not the tree of Wisdom or Righteousness or Religion, but *The Tree of Life*. Below is a link to an interview with Richard Dawkins. His contention is that religion is a force for great evil in the world if not *the* driving force for all evil. And while the particulars of his argument fail under rigorous philosophical scrutiny, I submit he has apprehended a truth in spirit. This is not without an overwhelming sense of irony. What is the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil if not a gnarled narrative of history spreading its violent tendrils across the throat of humanity? What wars have been waged that do not have at their core some religion, or philosophy, or national creed? The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is the Tree of Religion. Religion has caused men to commit great evils. Religion is the result of the desire to be or apprehend God by mans own merit. Hence the serpents lie, Your eyes will be open. You will be like God. All the philosophies of the world, great as they are, are the words eaten in want of the Words of Life. Kefa rejected the philosophies of his day. He said to the Messiah, To whom shall we go? You have the words of life. Yeshua said, I am the Way, The Truth, and The Life. The Tree of Life is the Word of God and the Way to the Word is Messiah. The way was closed when man was thrown from Eden. Now the way is made open by Messiah. And we may reject religious confusion and return to Life. Surely you must understand the great equivalence? Come let us reason together, says Adonai. God is the Word (Yochanan 1:1); The Word is Yeshua; Yeshua is the Messiah; Messiah is the Way to the Tree of Life; The Tree of Life is the Word of God. The matter of the Bible is not Good and Evil. The Word of God is the living substance of His love for all humanity that we, by His merit, would become one with Him.
