Why we don’t recommend fad diets..... The reason we keep succumbing to fad diets is the irresistible temptation of the “quick fix” and the belief that there is a magical solution that will help us achieve our weight-loss goals In reality anything that cannot be sustained for a lifetime, or which excludes entire food groups, is simply not the way to go. Eating plans that have a shelf life and which are followed only for a short time, are simply offering a quick fix. You will soon find that when you return to your old eating habits you return to your old weight. Dieting is a lifestyle change and is forever. The fact is that any diet that reduces total energy intake will result in weight loss irrespective of how you put it together. Remember that fad diets arent all necessarily healthy and sustainable. Avoid any diets that completely cut out any major food groups such as protein, carbohydrates and fats. Healthy eating is a balance of these 3 and there is no reason to eliminate any one group.
