Why would anyone host an exchange student? Some people ask me this. My family has hosted 21 students over the years and we will host another student this year. Why? Why not! We have room, We love people, and we can help make a difference in a persons life. Does it cost us anything? Maybe we spent a little more on groceries. What did we get out of hosting? We got 21 beautiful daughters and so much love. We feel that we were the ones who was given something, a gift. A gift of love, joy, fulfillment, and a lot of laughs and giggles. They will be our daughters forever, and we are their American mom, dad and sister. Our 14 year old daughter, now has 21 sisters to love, and share her love with. I guess thats why we host. We didnt bring strangers into our home, we brought new family members and in August, we will have another new daughter from Brazil! This is an experience I wish everyone could have. Think about it, open your heart and your mind, and give yourself the gift of hosting an exchange student. Right now homes are needed for some great kids from Japan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Hungary, Colombia, Taiwan, Germany, and Ecuador.
