Why would you even want to date a Black Guy? Expanding the Dating Options for Black Women College Students This 60-minute SKYPE presentation addresses the headline-grabbing phenomenon of the lack of Black men in college from the perspective of research, popular culture, and plain old common sense. By some media reports, Black women outnumber Black men on college campuses by as much as 12 to 1 – dubbing Black men as an “endangered species” in yet another arena. These same reports indicate that 40% of Black women will never marry, as a result of these education statistics. Despite these reports, there has been no wholesale discussion of broadening dating options for Black women college students as one solution to increasing their marriage potential. Dr. Jenn leads the audience in discussing the issues related to cross-cultural dating to assess its viability as a pathway to diversifying the dating experiences of Black women college students.
